ABOUT THE COUPLE
Contrary to common belief, Rachel and Connor are not Raccoons. While they may often have black rings around their eyes and can occasionally be found in dumpster-like settings, the two are in-fact, human similar to yourself. Like you, they enjoy being outdoors, eating dead fish, and finding shiny objects. How Rachel and Connor’s story comes to raccoons requires us to dive into the years BC (before Covid). The two met one late night in a lab of the Fashion Institute of Technology. Shortly after college, these two Venusian beauties started dating. Rachel was a socialite of Brooklyn and Connor was a schlub of Jersey City. It wasn’t long before they fell in love with each other. Early in their relationship, a dear friend and groomsman of this wedding, Greg Risicotti invited Connor and Rachel to camp at Lake George with groomsmen Pat Brannigan and a few mutual friends. Seeing the Lake for the first time, Rachel and Connor fell in love with the area and all of the quirks it offered. From steamboats to loons, they were entranced. Since that inspiring summer, Connor and Rachel have hosted 6 camping trips on the Lake. The lake has come to symbolize everything we love, our friends, our hobbies, nature, and the growth of our relationship. Connor knew it was the only place her could propose, surrounded by their friends in the most intimate place for the couple. Connor proposed on their 5th annual Lake George camping trip. The year was a test of human resilience and problem solving versus the raw animal determination of natures most savage creature… the raccoon. They stormed the camp, pillaging as they wished. They had no fear, there was no stopping them. A flashlight into the trees showed hundreds of eyes, all thirsty for blood (and granola). After a weekend of war, the casualties were beyond comprehension - granola bars, Doritos, and a sealed box of franzia were among the many lost that weekend. The raccoon is to be as feared as it is respected. Do not underestimate them. Darwin gave them thumbs, their lustful thirst for franzia cannot be quenched. The couple is incredibly grateful to share a camping trip to lake George with all of their friends and family, extending their annual trip to all of their loved ones.
